Product Description: Day of the Dead Girl by Ben Krefta

I've been a professional artist and illustrator for over 20 years. For as long as I can remember, I've had a deep fear of death, a condition psychotherapists call "thanatophobia". This terrifying monster lurked in my subconscious, tormenting me. Despite outward success - a loving partner, an art degree, and a book deal at 21 - I secretly suffered from anxiety and depression due to this fear.

Determined to confront and overcome this phobia, I sought the help of a therapist. However, the sessions were unproductive, as she would often veer off-topic. Feeling defeated, I experienced a mental breakdown during a difficult period in my personal and professional life. Resilient, I persevered, and over the course of my 20s and 30s, I educated myself extensively on religion, spirituality, psychology, and physics, gaining a new perspective on life, death, and the universe.

Particularly enlightening was my discovery of Mexico's "Day of the Dead" celebration, which honors the deceased with joy, color, and sound, rather than morbidity. This helped me learn that death is a nuanced, even beautiful, part of the cycle of life. Now, I'm happier and more at peace with my mortality. This artwork is my tribute to the positive, celebratory view of death that I've come to embrace.

The artwork is available in various sizes, printed on premium glossy paper, canvas, or canvas with a floating black frame. Estimated delivery time is around 10 days. The artwork is created by me, Ben Krefta, a professional artist known for his best-selling "How to Draw" art books. Each print is meticulously crafted to ensure the highest quality and customer satisfaction.
